I have a 3 month old buff silkie (hatchery) that is developing some decent sized wattles. I've looked at alot of other people's pics of silkie hens and haven't seen any wattles...

Do wattles on this age silkie definitely mean roo?

Thanks!

And here's a close-up...not very lady-like, huh?

I would say roo also, but a picture would be great! I've got breaded silkies & none of them have wattles (or they are super small) - hens & roos.

I think the non-breaded varities have wattles, but I'm not sure if it's just the roos.

I'm sure someone on here would know!

The tail would be more rounded if it were a hen too. His tail feathers are angular. I'm no pro, but of my seven by that age I saw clear differences like this.
