Silkies: Do they crow as much as other varieties?

LOL! My roo...I could have sworn he was gay for the longest time until I saw him making some movies on one of my ladies. Guess I'll just have to see how this group ends up. They are so funny to watch.

Almost all Silkies cockerels and roosters that I've seen or heard about have been aggressive. My feedstore used to have an evil one. Personally, I find it fun when I get flogged by a tiny little thing... I can take it with one hand, shake it and toss far away.

This is just my experience with others'. I have not owned a Silkie rooster before.

I just have the one silkie roo and he is a sweetheart, would Never go after me and he crows but no more than my other roos, maybe less

I have two silkie cockerals. One is about 9 months and the other is about 7. They are both really sweet boys.

It's beginning to sound that Silkies are like any other breed...they all have their individual differences. I guess that's a good thing...I'll just have to see who the nicest of the bunch is. If I'm really lucky, I'll have a meek and friendly lil fellow to keep in my flock who treats the ladies nice.

I've only had my Silkies since about 10:00 this morning and my cockerel has crowed alot just because my Ameraucana rooster has been crowing his ever living head off. This little cockerel mates with his favorite hen alot but he's not aggressive my little sister has man handled him alot!
