Silkies... eggs and crowing

I have three silkies, one roo and 2 hens 15.5 weeks old...

Firstly, do the roos crow at all... he shows no signs of doing so
when do silking hens begin to lay eggs... we have others soon to start but couldn't find when silkies will start?...

My roosters all crow. Most of my hens started laying about 6 months,but I've heard others say theirs took even longer.

freeloaders!

The male makes some determines bossy type noises which could never be confused with crowing

... we shall wait and see when he starts to do so.

The worse part is they give you 6-8 eggs then go broody !!!

I hear they really are freeloaders but very cute!

I have blue slate turkeys, african grey geese (all babies too) as well as columbians etc (see tag line) the silkies can raise their babies...
