There the most skittish birds ive ever had. I can only get close to them at nite.

I'd say it's probably their age. Keep trying with them and hopefully they'll warm up to you. They go through this awkward stage where they look and act awkward. Hopefully on the other side of this you'll have some affectionate sweethearts
