Come to think of it, I had to use warm water on the membrane of one of my rescues too. Poor guy was shrink wrapped. When I used the water, I did the procedure under my heat lamp since my bator has a fan. The fan was making the chick too cold even w/ warm water. I also had to use the tweezers to gently separate the membrane from the chick by running it under the membrane.
