Well Jethro was out this morning, but I saw him eating at the feeder (outside the brooder) and the other day I saw him drinking at the outside waterers so I'm no longer worrying about him.
Saw Ellie Mae attempting to get out yesterday evening. She tried to fly up to the side of the brooder but didn't make it.
We can't put a top on the whole thing, due to the construction style. We're working getting their coop ready and also brainstorming on ideas to use fencing to keep them confined to one side of the porch. DH had chicks watching him barbeque the other night - a meat bird sitting on his arm watching - and he was not amused.
