Silkies laid 2 eggs in 1day?

Can a Silke lay 2eggs in one day? — My girls are about 23-24wks now, just starting laying a couple weeks ago. — Yesterday I got 4 eggs!!
I only have 3 Silkies…

Can this happen at the beginning of lay?
I’ve never heard of this. I thought Silkies were poor layers…

It might have been in the bedding.

It can and does happen. It's pretty rare though.
I feel it's more likely you missed it in a different egg collection day.

Yeah, I have had new layers do so, but its not extremely common.

Y’all were right! I’ve got surprises in my straw! LOL! Today when I checked, I only saw a blue EE egg, but I stirred around and found 2 Silkie eggs in there…

I’ve only been grabbing the ones I see in the little nests they make. — I have an Omlet coop, it has a partition that you can open & close that’s their nesting area. It’s basically a long skinny indention that you line with their nesting materials. There’s no real boxes/sections to it, so they make their own little nesting “divots” and that’s all I’ve been checking, not digging around so much as to mess up their “hard work” — I did today tho, and found 2 happy little surprises!
