Silkies Of A Different Color

So, my splash hen has to have blue parents. What about splash parents? Doesn't splash to splash always get splash, but lighter each time? I thought I read that somewhere but now I am doubting myself.

Splash HAS blue as it is two copies of the gene. You can get splash offspring so long as each parent has at least one copy. If both parents have two copies, you will always get a copy from each parent, so your bird will be splash, at least genetically. Recessive white turns off the expression of pigment, so while the bird carries and will pass in the blue gene, you will not see it. If the bird has pattern genes, other colours and patterns may also express.

Yes, I see that does look very dark!

Here is my little green head on the far right and a look-a-like on the far left from a different hatch:

It has wings that are darker, but pretty close.

It is a week or two younger.

How about pink wings now?

The younger baby again (silver partridge because of the barring?):
Green head and pink wings! Haha!

ok I have this chick that has had a messed up beak since about a week ago. I was wondering if I could still breed him, or would his offspring have a messed up beak also? he is a month old and tried to crow this morning. hahaha sounded like a twity bird.

I've only read the first 3 pages & last page of this thread. Beautiful Silkies.

Question: Is this mainly for Show Quality Silky, or just anyone who Likes Silkies & is breeding Pet Quality?
