I vote porcelain ? I think blue would be more gray downy feathers and partridge you would see chipmunk stripes, but how knows for sue? I have had silkies dramatically change colors as they mature. She/he looks like an excellent quality chick. A keeper in any color congrats :thumbsup

thought i would share some pictures of my new chicks from my columbian silkie project for comparison.

blue chick, messy from eating moist feed, but pretty much solid gray

pale silver partridge chick very noticeable chipmunk stripes

the partridge are also found of eyeliner ;)

darker partridge chick, or maybe even a chinchilla?

I dont have any lav, or porcelain so i don't have any examples of them.
do you know what color the parents of your chick are?

This is a champagne paint bred by Deb Steinberg. He just keeps getting better and better. He's about 3 years old now. In hte second photo he is with a couple of dun-based chocolate hens.
This is a awesome bird.
I tried to google for Deb Steinberg but couldn`t find something. You maybe can give me a link to her website or other contact information. Really would love to have some eggs from her chamagne Silkies.

I've been following this thread for awhile. I just hatched some project silkie eggs (chocolate) and now I'm addicted. Lol can anyone tell me where I can get more chocolate silkie eggs. I'm also looking for anything unique ( red Pyle, porcelain, khaki , champagne ). Really anything different.

Same here!

How about this color guys? Sonoran (our genetics and color expert) calls this blue buff Columbian. I think it sounds so exotic.

I will probably mate him with these girls:

(Not the dark gray one - I think she is too dark to mate with him) I already have the first batch of eggs spoken for but was wondering if anyone else might be interested?
