Rusty looks like a cockerel, so you might want to reconsider who you place him with.

The more I looked at Rusty, the more I thought cockerel! Cheryl says the crest is standing straight up! Kind of hard to tell from that pic. I am fixing to put up another pic of Rusty, might be able to tell better by this new pic.

Here is the newest picture of Rusty! What do you think Sonoran?

Ya know I kind of wondered about that. But everyone seems to say or think that these birds colored like this are female.
Wouldn't bother me a bit if it is a boy.
Did you ever watch a show called Seinfield? Remember Krammer? this bird looks just like Krammer.
I'll try better to get a face shot, the little booger is a rascal to get a decent pic of.

Oh my dear friend you crack me up. I must start watching more TV, but that will have to wait for another 4 years, as I rarely get to pull my face from a BOOK!

Tomorrow is the BIG FINAL! I am so sick of reading I could scream.

I think Rusty is very unique looking. Oh, what will you do with another boy? Buddy usually throws about 95% Pullets. That is why I keep him around.

Buddy doesn't determine the gender; the hen does

That's what I thought too. I finally got something right!!

I know that's true about the hen determining the gender of the chick, but I'm like
Cammy of Elite Silkies, my roo seems to produce about 90% pullets. I think last yr I only had
about 5 or possibly 6 roo chicks. Everyone was a girl!
Maybe it's just the hens I kept...[I guess it was] but I still give credit to my roo Cuss.

Sonoran...is it the brightness of the color of Rusty to make you think it is a male? I bet it is the pattern right?

Today I'll go look into it's eyes and see
lol.png

If it IS a roo what do you suggest I use with it color wise for hens??
Thanks for the help
