Silkies Of A Different Color

I have a few. I had a silver laced(actually black and white) polish crested Rooster. He had a wonderful crest and beard. He was standard, and did not have feathered feet, but I wondered what the outcome would be if I could breed him to a silkie. At the time, the only mature silkie hen I had was a partridge, she is light blue and buff, she is not beared and not much of a crest. About 60% of what I hatched, showed only polish traits. Then I started getting chicks that are buff all over(6) and 2 blue all over, with the polish lacing(black&buff)(black&blue)(no white) on their wings, and a faint pattern over the rest of their body(like a cuckoo). They have the fur, black skin, five toes, feathered feet and legs. They are only 8 weeks, so I do not know what the roos vs. hens will look like,(I am suspecting I have one hen out of 8 in all) or if they will be the bantam size. What I wanted out of the pairing, was to improve the crests on my silkies, hopefully get some beards, and some version of the awesome laced pattern. I had no idea what colors would develope, and I did not think I would see results from the first generation. I would post some pictures for you, if I could figure out how to !

Very cute but those looks like a partridge and a gray both have penciling if I am correct not lacing.

I am not 100% sure I am not that good difference the penicling from lacing.

I am not sure myself. The Daddy was a silver laced Polish Crested, and the Mama is a buff/blue Partridge. So they do have the partridge for sure, and the with the Polish Crested, I have heard them called silver lace, and silver penciled, and I do not know if they are too different colors, or just two different ways of exspressing it?

My Baby Cuckoo, "My Precious" He came from a batch of ebay hatching eggs. I just love him. He has even(not blotchy) black skin and five toes. He has a little pink around his beak, and light eyes-which I love. I know light eyes in silkies is a no-no-but I love the light eyes. I can not wait for him to get his red comb, he will be just gorgeous. He also is showing good feathering in his feet, legs and crest(he is 4 weeks old)

I had to go out and look at his skin again, in the picture there looks like some pink around his neck, but I think its just the lighting, he was moving when I took this picture. His feet are like a gray color, so is his skin, definatly lighter then when I compared it to some of my other silkies, but he does not have the blotchy pink patches that the breeder warned me about in some of her Cuckoos.

The weather was so nice today I thought to let the 2 week old youngsters out to play in the corn rows. They have a blue mottled bantam cochin buddy too and older cochin chicks looking on....."wondering why the newbies get a prime spot"

AWW. I moved my chicks out to the sizzle pen and when I open up the door only the 3 older chicks come out. They got treats of some canned corn today and loved it. They ate it out of my hand. The blue one that is about 3 months old sat on my lap and got hand fed. The 2 white ones that are a little younger wasn't having no cuddling. Somebody stole one of my blue chicks.

I have an idea who it was but I can't prove it. Wish I could. I may need to put out a camera.
