Silkies or Cochins ~ which is the better broody?

After my last hatch in the bator, that was a complete disaster, I really want broodies to do the work for me. Which do you prefer or which do you think make better broodies?? Silkies or cochins??

My response can only be anecdotal, as I have neither silkies nor any cochin pullets old enough to lay, yet. Most of what I see in the forums is that silkies are brooding fools. Although some folks with silkies have never had one go broody. Cochins are mentioned less often by members, I've noticed, as being broody. Some may be, but I don't see it often in the posts in this forum, anyway.

I have a silke hen, and we just love her! We love her more than chicks. She is extemely broody (steals eggs), and will adopt and mother chicks without sitting on the eggs. I have seen other people on here say the same thing about their silkies. If I had a flock of silkies I would never use an incubator!! They are born to be mommies! Good luck.
