Hey all, my family and I have been looking at backyard chicken forums for a little while but have been hesitant to join the forum for unknown reason, but now we've bitten the bullet and I'm excited to be able to access this awesome community! Anyhow, we bought two white silkie chicks a little over a month ago; tomorrow they will be five weeks old. I'm wondering if anyone had any guesses as to the gender of them- if it's too early that's absolutely fine. They're our first silkies and I'm already in love with them!! The first one is Nutty, and the second one (with the more yellow head) is Bean.
PS: they are inside- we live in Montana and just yesterday it was snowing!!

**EDIT: The photos actually uploaded Nutty as the second chick :)

The first chick is showing a large comb even at this tender age. The other I can't see as well from the photo.

Generally 4-5 mos. of age is the earliest you can be "nearly positive," as to genders. Sometimes it takes till they crow or lay eggs.

Alright thank you!:) I'll wait it out and post updated pics in two or three months!
