To ship out Monday 8+ eggs from my silkie pen. I have a black roo with a blue, blue partridge and white hen. There is also a showgirl hen in the pen but I don't think she has started laying yet. I'm getting nice blue and black chicks from these.

is that buff colored one a roo or laying, is there a possibility to have any of those in there???? thanks, dana

The buff colored one is really a blue partridge hen. I haven't gotten any thing but blues and blacks out of the pen. I no longer have the hen that was her mother but I still have the roo. I'm planning to breed back to him but it's going to be a while before that happens.

Lovey birds. could you please explain to me how that buff colored hen is actually a blue/partridge color? I "thought" I hd had a number of blue partridge hens in the past.....and am now really confused. I've had buff partridge and reds as well so if you could lend a hand I'd appreciate it.:<)
