I have three silkies...one cockerel and two pullets. They insist on sleeping outside in their run, under the shed (which is the coop). Their outdoor run is super secure, but I'd prefer them in the coop. I have to go outside every night after dark and put them each in the coop.
They know where home is.....they weren't allowed outside for a good two months after going out to the coop from the brooder. The coop is a good size, and they are housed with my 5 barred rock girls (18 weeks old), two 9 week old Ameraucana's and two 9 week old Icelandics. I've never seen any major squabbles among them all.
Any idea how to get them into the habit of going inside? Everyone else seems to have the hang of it.

I have 3 Wild Eastern Turkeys and 2 Easter Eggers all about 12 weeks old that will sleep outside in the run if I let them. The other six 5 week old chicks and eight 12 week old chicks roost in the coop on their own.
