silkies vscochin and layers

I currently have a small flock of 5 standard sized birds. They are fairly docile. I am thinking of adding a bantam either cochin or silkie for a gentle bird for the kids to handle more. Of those two, I know both can go broody... but how do they lay? My DH is adamant about laying levels. Any hope there. Can someone show me a comparison of egg size?

This chart should be of help https://www.backyardchickens.com/breeds/breed-chart , look up the breed, and it will tell you size of egg, and how often they lay.

Yes I looked at hte chart. They are both medium layers. I am wondering if anyone can tell me how they compare or which goes broody more often etc.
