Silkies without Wattles

The Aracanas have pea combs. Looking at the photos on the site the hens have small Aracana crests as well and longer shapeless necks of the Aracana, and no blue ears,Aracanas don't have different coloured ears so they are causing the ear colour to go also. This is an important trait as far as I am concerned.. A real silkie has a shapely neck that broadens at the shoulders whereas the Aracanas have a more tube shaped neck ,not unlike a Belgian Bantam.ie the feathers are all the same length not getting longer towards the neck. I have noticed the Silkies bred from Belgians don't have good saddles as once the stiff tail feathers are replaces by shorter wider feathers as the bird become pure the bird ends up with no back end. this must be why they can get Rumples birds from these breeds. Don't think I would like a rumples Silkie.
Aracanas for lavender. I looked at all the breeds in my Aus, Standards books etc. and Aracanas and Belgian bantams don't have wattles. These are the two breeds with lavender most commonly in them. Game bird breeds mostly have theirs cut off' dubbed' They all have been trying to get lavender into the breed and most Silkies seem to have it hidden in them now. Lavender in other breeds turned up here ,about 30 years ago too. They didn't tell anyone they had the gene, as they weren't sure what it would do in the long run., and were afraid they wouldn't be able to sell their birds to show breeders if they admitted their blues had lavender in them, so they called them pale blue. I was told this by the older poultry breeders 80-90 years old now who cant use a computer to share their knowledge.
The Pekin is the shape a Silkie should be Heart shaped from the side and broad from the front, 'Said to Be Cochiny, maybe when they tried to get a different comb to the Pekin, they chose for comb instead of continuing for the feather width, the feathers are the important part of a Silkie hence the name 'Silk',( feathers'.)
