so are there only bantam silkies? or are silkies just small. im just an ignorant nonsilkie owner.

In the US there are only bantams, but overseas there are Standards.

In the US, we have bantam silkies. Other countries have LF silkies. Someone was saying that they thought maybe there were some LF silkies here but I never saw anything on it. So I assume we still just have bantam. The hens get to be about 2 lbs. from what I have read in the past. I never weighed mine.

The US standard for silkies is
Cocks are 36 oz
Hens and cockerels are 32 oz
Pullets are 28 oz

I believe in Australia you have both large fowl and bantam silkies. Your bantams are smaller than ours; your large fowl larger than our bantams. Note that US silkies are one of the larger bantam breeds.
