The silkies are new(young) broodies--they have been on and off the nest, eggs seem mainly pretty warmish all the time, may have gotten chilled a few times. I tried to move them into a space of their own-to no avail-(did it at night, etc)because the other hens keep moving in and laying eggs of their own... "here sit on this too will ya!"...

My question is how long are the eggs viable with such changing conditions? Do I need to mist the eggs? Do the silkies tolerate a wettish egg? Why the hay won't those crazy ducks sit on their OWN eggs?? Should I pull the eggs and put them in the incubator (I REALLY don't want to mess with that) or just Wait and See? if i can be patient enough! lol! 28 days is a loong time!
Thanks in advance! I hope this works!
