Silky died in the egg

1 of my poor silkies died in the egg tonight. I felt bad about it too. I had read from another memeber that if the chick isn't strong enough to hatch then it just isn't meant to be. Still sad. This is my 3rd hatch and this had never happened before.

On a happier note......I have 5 healthy happy chicks in the brooder that hatched today. Not to mention the 42 week old chicks I have!

My back bedroom is like chick world!

I'm sorry for your loss Maryallison.

Losing a chick is never easy...no matter the circumstances.

But it's wonderful that you have 5 strong, healthy chicks to raise.

...not to mention all those other little fuzzy butts! You've got plenty to keep you busy! Have fun!

I had 2 do that last time I hatched. I was traumatized!

Did I or broody do something wrong or was it just meant to be?

Every hatch I learn something new...good or bad.

I have had it happen too. Its never a good feeling.
