Looking for some feedback on my newest silkie! This is the first time I have hatched home grown eggs and was suprised on some of the darker down the baby has.
I have:
All white hens.
1 dominate all white Roo.
1 beta partridge showgirl Roo.
I didn't think that the partridge roo was getting busy with the ladies because my alpha roo is very protective of them and runs the partridge away.
Wondering if this darker color is from the hatch or if it is a white & partridge mix?
The white silkies I had were all just yellow when they hatched, this little one is white with almost buff looking areas.
Thanks!

Recessive white chicks are often hatched grayish, yellow or even tan in color. You’ll know when the wing feathers start coming in in a few days. Cute chick.😊
