Silky laying eggs

Hi, i'm new keeping silkies i have 2 silky chickens one of them are going through molting and one has just started laying eggs, it has been three days since it started laying eggs and i got one egg a day from that silky which i find very strange as i've heard that silky chickens lay a average of 3-4 eggs a week, so does this mean i chicken won't lay another egg untill the next week since it have already layed 3 eggs in a roll? or will it continue to lay a egg a day until it finishes it cycle?

I was shocked when my Silkie started laying because I was like you and thought I'd only get maybe three eggs a week. Well, turns out that she is an egg laying machine. She has laid me an egg a day for two weeks straight. She got off to a rough start laying an egg then skipping 17 days, but now... there's no stopping her!

I thought it odd that I was getting so many and posed it. Other BYCers got online and assured me that their Silkies lay them an egg a day--and here's the catch--WHEN THEY ARE LAYING (aka not being broody).

Lucky Duck has started going broody over the past couple of days, so we will see how long until she lays again.
