Silly question about silkies

How can you tell the differance between a grey silkie and a blue silkie? And is it ok to mix a white silkie with a black silkie or does that mess up the quality of them?

A gray silkie is actually a patterned bird. Below are pics of a blue...and then a gray...so you can see the difference.
