This one egg I've got in the incubator has got me scratching my head! I candled it late last week and was excited when I saw a red line on it. Then, in disappointment, decided that it must be a blood ring. The red line looked almost as if the egg was smiling at me, if that makes sense. I decided to continue incubating it and keep an eye on it because there seems to be other things going on just out of sight within the egg. It doesn't appear to be a clear egg. And also, not sure if it's wishful thinking, but there seems to be much smaller veins coming off what I'm thinking may be the blood ring. Anyways, I candled it again last night and was shocked to see that the "blood ring" has grown! The right side of the line has elongated more to the right and has also started to extend up and to the left. I tried to take photos but since the eggs are on the darker side, my camera didn't want to cooperate. I took a great pic of a store bought egg, though, when I was testing out my new candling setup!! BTW-this is a Silkie egg that's got me confused and today is day 7.
