My EE roo is not quite 20 weeks and wasn't crowing or doing his other rooster duties. The other day I noticed some of the girlies were looking a little "ruffled" and wondered if he'd hit sexual maturity but with no crowing.....? I haven't even heard him practicing like roos do with their silly little half crow that they do until they gain their voice. Today, out of the blue I hear a crow, then another, and another. It's like "Look what I can do" out there! He won't shut up! LOL! But now we're going to have babies so I don't care and I got no neighbors so no one else does either.
