Currently I have a flock of two year olds, two 4 month old roos, a hen with a 1 week old chick. My seven new chicks are one month old and have been in the coop since day 3. The see but no touch has worked out nicely. Now the seven want out. Are they too young to join the flock? I free range during good weather. I have had the 7 in a outdoor, temporary enclosure for a few days. Thoughts?

I think free ranging is the best time to move them in with the flock. That way if things don't go good the younger ones can run away.

Do you think they are old enough to free range now?
Yes, absolutely! I've always had my chicks out my 3 days and free ranging with the adults. That way I don't have to worry about integration and they know where to look for food for themselves.
