Chick with Bowed Thigh Bones

Chick was euthanized via cervical dislocation.

From the start, chick on back it's clear the legs are too far in.

Tendons aren't slipped. Something went wrong with joint development.

Agreed. Those legs don't look correct. Compare with normal chicks, and it's pretty obvious something is just not right. Stance when sitting was not right also. Good information.

It was a LOT easier to see what was going on postmortem. Very clear this chick would have had a lot of issues growing up and probably very poor quality of life

I should've said the tendon was malpositioned; it was very late/early when I posted. There was a "slipping" sensation when I flexed the left leg in particular as the muscle and tendon worked over that boney protrusion.

Oh, that sounds awful! Pain every time the left leg flexed.
