So we have a silkie, and she is a new layer. She has laid 2 so far. She refuses to use a nesting box. I found the first in a pile of leaves in the corner of the coop. So I moved a nesting box down onto the floor for her. She still brought in more leaves, made her pile, and laid her egg in it. So I moved the leaves to the nesting box to see if that is what makes her happy. And today she is working on a new leaf pile for today's egg lol! So do I just give up and let her be to do egg delivery her way?

If you don't mind the location she's laying in, you can just let her lay there.

Since she's a new layer she's likely still figuring things out, so if you want to try and get her to change laying locations, now's the time to be doing so, before she makes it a habit.
