Silver and Elliots Pheasant Started Laying!!!

Woo hoo.. I have 1 Elliots Egg from yesterday and I have 1 True Silvers egg today... Im so exctied.. they started to lay!

I have 1.2 Elliots and 1.3 Silvers..

I was not expecting the elliots to lay until next year and was supprized the silvers even layed. I thought they were 2 year breeders. I hatched out my silvers from eggs last year, and My elliots that I bought i was told were bearly 1 year old..

Sometimes you get lucky on those "second year" birds.

Glad ya did. None of my birds lay till mid march. You would'nt think that in Fl but that's how its been here for over 10 years for me

Most birds lay their first year ,but no all are fertile.It takes 2 years for the males to get their breeder plumage.If they are early hatch from previous year,you may get fertile eggs.
Does anyone have an extra mikado hen for sale?
