We have some people who raise and release ring neck pheasants down the road from us and the kids found some marked eggs that were tossed just a bit off the road. I assume they failed to hatch but I got curious and candled them, 2 blanks and 1 with something inside. No movement and no veins so I cracked the one open and to my surprise there were two chicks inside! Thought I’d share. The egg looked the same size as the other 2 blanks, yolks appear to be connected.

It occurs sometimes!

I know it happens but I just find it interesting to see it in a game species. Chickens and ducks, even quail I’m not too surprised to see but turkeys and pheasants it seems much less common.
