I am sorry but now I am totally confused. The one in the fore ground in a cuckoo marans not a dominique. But they do have yellow legs and if you got them from a hatchery that would explain it. They have mixed theirs with production and thus they have yellow legs instead of pearl. Also your marans are the normal color for cuckoo marans. There is a silver gold and blue of which I have all but the blue. The silver marans are a lot lighter then the regular cuckoo. The gold have alot of gold going down their backs and necks. I also have some platniums in the bator cant wait to see the difference in them and the silvers. The cuckoo marans hen should have pearl legs with light black going down the from of their legs and the roos have totally pearl legs with no black.

To the people who have hi-jacked my thread and turned it into a discussion of leg color, please allow me one last opportunity to clear this up. I am fully aware of the differentiation some "breeders" want to make within a breed i.g. silver cuckoo marans, golden cuckoo marans, blue cuckoo marans, platnium cuckoo marans, but I am not a breeder nor am I trying to sell eggs to one. If if were, the price would not be $12.

I believe that there are a lot of people who, like myself, enjoy chickens for the pleasure of raising them and delight in the esthetic and nutritional value of the eggs they produce. I'm convinced they to would like to use this forum as a vehicle to contact others who share their passion and as a resource for knowlege as well as entertainment. Some people seem more concerned with disparaging others and attempting to create confusion than actually trying to buy, sell, or trade.

This forum is called "Backyard Chickens Hatching Eggs Buy~Sell~Trade" .For those of you are interested in debating breed standards there are forums for that as well.

With that said, here are pictures of my chckens and their legs.

I would like to see some pictures of the EGGS, not to be confused with LEGS . . .

Seriously, the shade of brown coloring on the egg is important to me !

Edited to say - - NOW the picture comes up on my computer. Gorgeous eggs !

Well, those are very pretty eggs. If I just didn't have some in my incubator already.....!

Pretty hens, too.

I'm telling you...I'm sooo mad I do not want anymore chickens. Otherwise I would be ordering up a dozen or two of these eggs. Also I think people were just being careful as many of us on the internet are of false advertising. I see almost all the birds in your original photo that I can see except for a few in the back have Yellow legs. And you never stated that you had Dominques in the pen as well. Also your birds are Cuckoo Marans. I have never heard of them being called "Silver Cuckoo Marans" but hey whatever works. Your birds are clearly Marans and the eggs are beatiful...I might just have to get a dozen of these....hmmm
