I figured the lighting was causing some color weirdness in the pictures. Either that or you have the world's first glowing chickens!

If they are young, there's a good chance their appearance can improve some as they mature. Odds are against them maturing into show quality specimens, but the fullness of your cockerel's tail should improve for sure, and possibly some coloring things like the white on your pullet's chest. I've noticed that in a few of my younger pullets and it eventually darkened to the proper color.

Lol glow in the dark chickens! Yes I can't wait till they mature. Luckily I should have plenty of time before the fair.

Hi! I don't know if your still looking at this, but I have 2 old english game hens (about 9 months old, wheaten and blue wheaten, got them from a breeder, their sister died (sweet little Ivy, I took her to a show so that made it almost worst and they are laying now), I have a partridge wyandotte bantam. I don't know anything about color but her tail is pinched and should fan out, and the rooster usually needs to be dubbed, I am going to my county fair in may, so I have been working on my hens and my market turkey, her back a little long but curves nicely, the rooster looks fine (I have never had a rooster before so I take what I say about him with a grain of salt), I hope this helps you!
