I purchased an assortment of 3 week old chicks ( vent sexed Pullets) 6 weeks ago. The one that was meant to be a Welsummer had 5 toes.. I didn't think much of it at the time since she seemed healthy and happy and she is the sweetest calmest one. Now that all her feathers are in she is not looking much like a Welsummer.

Having bit of extra time today I thought i should look in to what she might be...
She resembles none of the breeds listed on the website of the lady i bought her from, but after looking at the two hatcheries that she gets her chicks from (McMurray and Ideal) I have concluded that she must be a Silver grey Dorking. She does seem to have shorter legs than the others too.

Thank you for the confirmation :)
I had never heard of them before.. but then i am pretty new to chickens.
I'm thinking it is a very happy accident that I needed up with her, she's been my favourite from the start.
