This chick is not very handleable. It is only finally growing in tail feathers as of today (our younger Jersey Giant grew them sooner!), and it's already got some pink wattles. The thing is, I'm only seeing maybe a touch of pink in the comb, and I'm not seeing any red. I know Wyandottes are a bit tricky, but is this pretty much a confirmed cockerel or is there still hope? I was told by one person in particular that it is definitely a cockerel.

Too young. I used to think it was male when the tail developed slowly but after raising 6 chick's last year, one had no tail (forever it seemed). She is a beautiful hen.

This gives me hope, thank you. This chick in particular just makes me nervous haha. Our others are a lot sweeter and more docile, so I'm not worried about any surprise roosters with them.

Some people will say that their rooster is the sweetest. Lol I have a SLW. Some on here questioned her sex when I asked opinions. It wasn't until around 11 weeks when all confirmed she was a pullet. Don't go by personality. My SLW was always the first to charge up to me as if defending the flock. Now she's just a lounger hanging out on the perch. And she's like a heavy bowling ball. Not a great layer. Maybe 4 a week, if lucky.

She more than makes up for the eggs by being gorgeous eye candy 🥰
