Silver Laced Wyandotte...Pullet or Roo??

Thats a lot of comb and wattle for a six week old bird. However, the coloring looks female. I know that hatchery birds tend to develop their combs and wattles rather quickly, so your bird may be a pullet. For now, I guess that I'm going to say pullet, but that comb is really large and red for the age.

I agree. Normally, yes-larger combs and comb color would make me thing this is a cockerel. I've also see hatchery birds that are female with shield-huge ones sometimes-they really change alot as they mature. But I agree, the feathering is female. For all the bird questions I've answered this years, it seems that the hatcher birds have had ALOT of comb and color early and most were females in the end. I hope it turns out to be a girl for you.

I'm really hoping girl...I really like the coloring but if it's a roo it'll have to go.....I live in town and my neighbor really hates animals to begin with....There are no ordinances here but he can be a real pain...He actually has shot ground hogs on my property....He thinks he can get away with whatever he wants because he's the Mayor
