So, one of my Silver laced Wyandotte hens is a rooster. I was going to keep him and maybe incubate some eggs. I still need more laying hens and can get some Barred Rocks for a good price about the same age as my others. I was told that breeding a silver laced roo with a barred rock hen yields black sex links. But when I look up black sex link it says the roo should be Rhode Island Red or Plymouth. So if I use my roo and get barred rock hens what will they make? Is it a good match? Any help is appreciated

RIR and BR are more productive than Wyandottes so your black sex link hens will be less productive than BR

Good to know. I really didn't want a rooster and, sine I need more hens I just want something that will pair well IF we decide to incubate any of the eggs. Thanks for the reply.
