I need some help to figure out the sex of one of my wyandottes... My husband thinks we have a roo and a pullet, but I'm not too sure. When our silkie was a boy, we knew very quickly. These ones are 17 weeks, and just in the past two weeks have they shown drastic changes in their combs and wattles. I got them from my pet chicken, and I paid to have them sexed, but mistakes happen! Any insights would be helpful!

Muffy is the one on the left (possible roo) and Edith is the one on the right.

I would not be so sure. The one in question does not have the rooster coloring wyandottes get, at all. At 17 weeks a boy would be very obvious. I think you just have a pullet whose comb and wattles are developing faster than the other's.

Now I'm questioning myself lol!

and thats what I was thinking as well! Because it looks like they have the same tail feather shape? and they make similar noises. Our silkie rooster was already crowing at this age.

but if I'm wrong, it makes me think one of my marans might be a boy! oh no!
