Silver Laced Wyandottes, when do they begin to lay?

    Hello, I have slw chicks (pullets), wondering how long before eggs.? about 5 months?

    Quality, more traditional breeds often take much longer than a sex link type pullet. I wouldn't worry about it until I see serious squatting around week 20.

    Mine don't lay until 28-32 weeks usually, but if yours are from a hatchery, they'll probably start sooner.
