Silver pheasant eggs

Hello

I have a single silver pheasant, he or she is 3 months old now. We got him (or her) as a week old chick and hand raised him, so he's very tame now and seems friendly. We also have a flock of about 13 chickens which he sometimes joins for walks.

My question is, if he turns out to be a girl, will she lay eggs even without the presence of a rooster? Also, has anyone ever tried to put a silver pheasant among some chickens, and did that work out in the end?

Definely a hen.The male will have black in the breast where the hen(as yours does) is brown.Yes,they will lay eggs without a male and you should never have chickens in with your pheasants.Not even next to them.

Thanks! I look forward to her eggs then, i hope they're as nice as my chickens' eggs.

As for the chickens, what exactly happens if you put them together? Will they eventually start fighting and hurting eachother? And why can't they be next to eachother? I have some Dutch bantams and another breed whose English name I don't know, they're black with a kind of white "bonnet". My pheasant doesn't seem to like these last ones, I put her in a pen next to them sometimes and she tries to peck at them, but lately this seems to have improved and she doesn't do it anymore. The other chickens treat her as a kind of strange visitor but there haven't been any fights.

I own 3 wall to wall pens, so it would be nice if I can eventually put her in one of those with some neighbors (she's very spoiled and lives in and around our house right now, but I want to be able to lock her up too). Is it really a big deal or might it be okay if they don't turn out to be aggressive? And if it's really a big problem, are there any other animals that I can put in with her? The farmer we got her from had some ducks walking around the same pen as his pheasants, wouldn't that be alright?

Chickens can pass several diseases on to game birds that can easily kill them.

Oh that's not good then. Is it even a concern if my chickens never come into contact with other chickens? They're just a small group we keep as pets, and we never really introduce any new ones or breed with them. I don't want to risk the health of any of them, but I've searched the internet a bit about this and I see very mixed opinions. Maybe it's mostly a concern for breeders and farmers?

She can just live in my house or a separate run if it comes to that though. We'll probably get her another pheasant friend then.
