Silver pheasant face mask

Hey, I'm new to pheasants and doubly to silvers. Their red face masks, do they get bigger as they age? I ask because I have two silver males and have decided to only keep one, and would like to keep the better of the two for breeding. Anyway, male 1 has lighter legs and his mask is not as vibrant but he is a bit smaller. Male 2 is much brighter red, but his mask is not nearly as full. Both are 2013 hatch. I'll try and get some pics posted
