Oh, yes it is normal. All silver pied and pied will not look the same, the white will vary and not match up on both sides.

Congrats and very cute chick... it may cry a lot now, but you'll be rewarded with a great tame pet.

The chick isn't silver pied, too much color- the back is almost completely colored save for a spot of white on lower back, that is how pieds look. Check out Minxfox's Dragon for what it will look like. Silver pied chicks are practically white with little spots of color. Might be white eyed pied if it was out of silver pied parent(s).

Thanks for posting your pictures here, Minxfox. So beautiful...

One can make reasonable guesses as to much white a pied chick will have by the pattern on their body. Colored areas will grow out colored feathers, the white areas, white.

White pied, Pied or Silver Pied are all beautiful colors & I'll be happy however Andie (Andromeda or just Andy) turns out.

The baby is settling in a little better tonite... not crying too much. I have feelers out for a buddy & hopefully someone will come through.
