I agree now it's a wheaten something or other. I dont plan on breeding it now, but am going to let it grow up and feather out because I'm curious what it matures to look like

I have been consulting Marans breeders and have found that the gold salmons are not always purebred for the wild type allele. Some carry the brown and wheaten alleles. I agree with Krys and my guess would be that your bird is heterozygous wheaten/wild type and gold.

My wheaten ( no "autosomal red"), columbian, barred, silvers are white ( like snow) with no pheomelanin pigments (yellow) pigments in the down. I would say your bird will be gold and a stippled wheaten color ( the same as what David said).
