silver sussex

Does anyone here have any if so could you post a picture please? I have two mystery chickens from an unknown hatchery that look exactly like silver laced wyandotts but they have a single comb. any ideas?

Silver-laced Wyandottes do occur with a Single comb. It is a throw back to their Cochin ancestory. To get two at the same time is a little unusual though.

I don't think there are any US hatcheries that would be sellin' anything like that EXCEPT single-combed wyandottes, which are not especially uncommon especially from certain hatcheries. It is a recessive gene and thus difficult to entirely eliminate, plus I think I've read there is some reason involving fertility for keeping it in the gene pool.

So I will betcha ANYTHING that what you've got are simply single-combed SLW's.

I can't imagine a US hatchery having any non-speckled Sussex varities. I would guess hatchery quality SLW.
