I have a contact that can possibly supply the right vet to teach caponization if enough people are interested. Please respond here or PM me with your interest.
Thanks.

I would certainly be very interested in learning this technic, I have done some research but haven't made the jump yet. So YES !! I am IN.

This was re-located, but I'm not sure if it wouldn't be better in the 'meat bird' section. This procedure is not normally done as a way of managing a flock. Some would think it is interesting, but 'not for me.' I just want to learn how to do it and have done all I can think of thus far, but still don't have the tech down good enough to consider myself proficient. Sadly the SS forum has more people interested in caponizing chickens than the BYC forum....go figure.

I would be interested in learning, just don't see how it would be possible with the distance. I imagine there are others who thought the same, so didn't post.

Well I haven't gone on a vacation in years, so I am past due to get outta here. My contact feels that if enough people are interested the vet would consent to a travel.......actually I can't see him/her doing it for free, but I don't know. Seems like some of us can splurge for the vets fare, at least.
We have somewhat discussed having the event kinda centrally located if its done at all, so that it is obtainable to the majority.
To tell the truth, I am also looking forward to meeting some of the BYC and SS people too. But in my search I have discovered that I may possibly be not too far from a man that knows the tech.....IDK.
I will continue preforming surgeries on dead birds until I know what I am doing.
