It's kinda sad that soo many people loose beloved chickens to predators and pest. I have come up with a few ideas on how to keep the pest and predators out.

1.
Get some tight mesh, around 2.5 cm wide/long for each hole/square.

2.
Build a big coop that has multiple rooms which are up high.

3.
Build a moat around your coop (yes, like castles) so cats and stuff don't want to go near your coop.

4.
Install a sensor light into the coop so everytime a predator comes, the motion will trigger the light, so the chickens have a chance of keeping out of the way.

5.
Put a wall right next to the mesh, around 10cm long, so snakes can't get in and raccoons etc, cant reach inside.

Hope this helps.

another very effective measure used alot in averie culture is wire both sides of the panels. ok cost twice as much in wire but its effective and should help stop those pulled through the wire incidents
