Simple & Easy and only $0.53 ( Picture) look and save $$

Another question about this bucket: won't you only be able to put food in the bottom below the holes? Otherwise it will spill out, or are you putting the bucket into a pan? I'm having a severe blond moment and feel like I may have missed something...

I was going to get some of those black plastic water pans and set the bucket inside it with small holes drilled near the bottom and have the lid on the top of the bucket. POssibly even attach the pail and the water pan with a bolt/nut. Its pretty simple to fine tune.

Omran, this is a great idea! the feed will be deep enough to supply the day's rations.

the holes are wonderful, because the chicken eats INSIDE the bucket so there is no waste!

No you are absolutley correct, but see I have like 5 buckets and fill the 2.5" in the bottom, and only thing I like it because it is cheap and they can not west feed.

Miss Jayne, you are always nice for everybody, thank you so very much.

Omran

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this idea! I will use it outside in my run each day and it will keep the feed dry. I will bring it indoors at night because we have bears.

By the way, what nest box??? I need to think about that next!!

Thanks Omran! My 6 wk olds need something bigger--I was just going thru posts and looking for all those bucket feeders and found your idea.

I'm off to the church kitchen to get some free buckets and then
I'll add this to my "Honey Do" list. I guess I could do it--just have
to figure out what bit to use. Thanks again for another neat idea!
