Simulated Natural Nest Incubation~Experiment #1 So it begins....

I've decided to start a second nest tomorrow or the next day, just in case this one got fried on that first day. All eggs I'm seeing right now are fertile and that sissy boy rooster has been breeding like a pro out there, plus my oldest and best layer is back in lay and I'd love to have some of her progeny before she is no longer laying. I think I'll have everything on my side with a new nest and it could be the one that is successful.

I'm candling these current eggs and again I see nothing new in there but yolks rolling around. I'll give it three more days before I start cracking and stacking egg shells, calling this nest a failed effort.

In entirely unrelated news... I think your 5 year tag just turned into a 6 year tag! Or I simply did not notice it before, but it looks different

Can someone explain to me what a water wiggler is? Just learning incubating 101 and would love to try beekissed nest method but want to make sure I have everything I need. Maybe even post a picture. Thanks!!

Thanks for asking Morrisonmanor. I meant to ask but forgot. What the heck is a water wiggler and picture would be great so we can spot them at the store. Did I read they can be found at Walmart? Forgive me if I'm totally confused here. Stay so busy I've been scanning through all this great information while on the run. I have a husband, 2 Mini Aussie dogs, 2 cats, 20 or more peafowl, 2 Red Golden pheasant and 10 White Bobwhite quail. Never a dull moment around here.

Beekissed, I see I got an ovation from you but don't know how to respond directly to it. Some of backyardchickens confuses me. I'm bowing to you now and thank you for the honor. I can't make the fun little thingies cause the toolbar is no longer available to me which also allows me to add pictures. I've tried and tried to get it back but don't know how.

Now, that I cannot help you with but if you go to the part of the forum where they take feedback, those folks can help you figure out the BYC website. You don't have to respond to the ovation...it just means that something you said was helpful or appreciated in some way and if I gave it, then that's why!

A person only gets so many to give out, so I try to use mine daily allotment on worthy posts each day.

Someone said they were at Walmart but my mother asked for them yesterday and they acted like she had a third eye in her forehead. She searched the whole toy department and they are nowhere to be found. Here's a pic...
