Simulated Natural Nest Incubation~Experiment #1 So it begins....

Hey, Sis!

Thanks to everyone who is cheering on the hatch..I really appreciate it! I've got a slight problem, though, that may complicate things.....I've got 4 babies arriving tomorrow instead of 3. My first grandchild will be arriving tomorrow as they are inducing labor and, due to some complicated transportation problems, I may be gone from home for half the day and have to take the nest with me and try to maintain heat. Not sure how that will all work out....

Could use prayers all the way around and for all babies concerned...and maybe one for the new grandma...it will be some kind of day.

Good luck with all the babies on the way! Hoping all are healthy and happy.

Prayers being sent for all your upcoming babies.

Your first grandchild!!! I may sound like a traitor to the hatching project, but I would leave them at home so they would not be a distraction to the birth of your grandbaby. But then, I would probably be thinking about chicks stuck in eggs all day.

Decisions... decisions... If you don't have any pips in the morning, they probably won't be hatching until much later in the day, so might be ok on their own. Have the temps been that variable that you need to worry? I haven't helped at all, have I?

Either way, I wish you nothing but the best.

Congratulations and celebratory hugs to you, Grandma!

Bee I am praying for you, the grandbaby, and chicks!

This is typical Bee....what better way to introduce chickens to a new grandbaby. I can hear the stories being told when the child is older.....

Lisa :)

I can see it too.lol

I am not a big fan of people babies but Id put the heatpad set up like you will in the brooder, then toss the whole thing in a big cardboard box the chicks cant get out of in case they hop out of the nest. Add extra extra water, cover the big box with a sheet to keep in the warm and moist and leave it at home!

Well Bee, We will be praying for you. You sure have your hands FULL!
We just had a new Grand...Nephew, yesterday!
May God Bless all the babies, Moms and new Grandma's!
Wishing for the BEST!
