Bee, congratulations on your success so far! It seems like nest #4 has been your most successful. What did you do in this nest that was so different from the others?

And Bee, don't be discouraged by the quitters, even if it was something you did(and I don't know if that's true or not, I'm just saying that if it was something you did, don't be discouraged or beat yourself up). I killed I don't even know how many because of my ignorance. I don't know exactly when my two ducks(the two sharing a nest) started laying, but when I first counted(I'm guessing after like two and a half weeks or three weeks), they had 21. Today, they have 11, with three possible external pips.

Well, I hope anyway... But I didn't see any with internal pips, so I have no idea. They could just be cracks. But the eggs I candled(all of them) showed life and movement and just... Definitely looked different from the dead eggs that I found.

Anyways, keep us all updated on the progress!

Tomtommom: Why wait until Saturday night to get the show on the road? If you start early, you'll have more than one opportunity to move things along. PP suggestion about warm water and nipple stim was a good one... I'm sure Hubby will have some other ideas that will help! Don't forget the baked beans!!!! Is Amelia in position?

I love the name, Amelia Eleanora. What will you call her? I raised my daughter to be a girl and a tomboy. She had the best of both worlds, like me!

I had friends who would eat chocolate and then hit the bumpiest curviest roads imaginable. They delivered the same day. I am sure everybody has a 'story'.

Nicknames come with time...

My son looked like a turtle as a baby, so he became Tommy Turtle... then Tom Tom.. still Tom Tom now, or Tommer Bommer, or just Tommer.

My step-son is Boo or Booger or Boogenator.. If I use first names, they're in trouble.. middle names, oh boy, you best stop what you're doing!

I like that we have lots of options with her: Mia, Amy, Lia, Leah, Nora, Elly, Ellen.. whatever suits her.

I'm too dang nice? Husband dearest is a General Manager a.k.a. finding last minute replacement is a nightmare. I've been trying/hoping/praying for it all to time right, so he doesn't get into a bind. Weekends especially are super busy..

In a perfect world labor starts after the Easter egg thing with my son.. then stay at home as long as I can, deal with beginning labor, as it progresses.. somehow notify hubby it's time to go, without him freaking out and FLYING down the road (he's a speed demon when worried..). Have the baby Saturday night, or sometime Sunday or any time after that.. since his maternity leave kicks in after Sunday

Less time on wires and IVs and monitors, the better. I don't look forward to being pinned down in a bed for 24 hours or something. Blegh.

What can I say? I like planning things. I too know that it's all up to nature and the baby and the moon and the good Lord and I can just sit here dreaming (and eating baked beans, apparently

)

Frankly, it's about convenience. I am lucky to be in good health, baby is in good health. She's in position. Heart rate is good. All is spiffy. So many ladies out there are not so lucky: be it genetic issues, pre-eclampsia, infertility or what have you. I certainly count my blessings. The minor discomfort and inconvenience of whichever route we have to go is so insignificant in the grand scale of it all.

I am an old mom, around these parts, most girls down South start way younger. In Holland it's more common to wait til late 20s, early 30s

Always said I didn't want kids of my own.. adopt some down the line, be a foster parent. Nature disagreed and when my late twenties came rolling around and I found myself pining for a family of my own. Tick tock!

Wouldn't change it all for the world. I can still foster some kids down the line, when the nest empties.

I sound like a broody chicken now.

(yup, you go ahead and stick those cornish X under me, I know they look nothing like me, but bring 'em on in anyway!)
