Baby: She's adorable!! Mom told me that I was in a hurry to come out and came out butt first before the doc could get there. She ended up w/27 stitches.

While at home before I could walk, she had me sitting in in a "walker thingy" and stepped out of the room for just a moment. When she came back, she found me merrily swinging from the curtains having a jolly time.

So, keep an eye on those active ones!!

So pleased you're doing well, too. Is big brother happy that he has a brand new sister?

Ow... that's a lot of stitches. I had like 8 the first time, stupid doc didn't ask, just decided to cut me up.... Grrrrr.

Her big brother is proud as can be, her younger 'big' brother is extremely jealous and confused. He can't talk and just doesn't know what to do with himself, poor thing. He's been real fussy and tries to avoid looking at the baby (in a really obvious way

) and pretends she doesn't exist.

aweeeeee she's precious!! congrats tomtom
Thank you

That's terrible.....but God knows....and that's what matters most.

We visit the grave every year on his birthday. Even though it is not my baby, it is very important to my husband and I make sure we honor that. My step-son also knows he has a brother in Heaven.

My husband's birthday is on the 27th of August, mine is the 30th.. his baby was born on the 26th. So it's a weird week. I always said we should get married on the 28th or 29th, so we can just have it all in one week.

Sure wish you all would visit The Front Porch Swing after you leave here because I'm sure going to miss you all dearly.

Yes ma'am!

Hm, 1 applies. I like "The green nest" or something. "Low tech hatching" it should be descriptive enough.. "Pantry hatching" since you use items found around the house.

On another note, this girl is amazing me. She is raising her head.. and a lot too! Found both hands and has been nibbling and sucking them. Bright cookie indeed.

She's ready to go, go, GO!
Oh my goodness! She's already raising her head! You have got one strong baby, Tomtommom!

Wow this has been a interesting thread to say the least. Will have to look for the swing and im still working on my washingbator experiment so will keep that in progress. Im trying to do primitive and minimal for someone whose totally clueless or few resources lol. Both I have! If I didnt post here I added a new rabbit to our growing family her name is Nymeria Alice and she is a grey/white Dutch they tell me on the rabbit threads here. I got her to go with our Chinchilla buck but guess he might be a bit BIG for her even once shes grown. See how little I know. But she can b a house bunny if needed and I find him another doe. Going to find some breakfast, check some more threads and look up the chicken meds the vet gave me yesterday.

Tomtommom: Your son's reaction is not at all unusual. When my dtr was born... (2 years after my son), he took one look at her, and was obviously not impressed. He looked at me and said, "Put 'im back!". Then he went into a royal snit and was totally p***ed at me. Wouldn't have anything to do with me. I finally forced the issue and had to drag him out of the house for some "bonding time with Mommy". He was so angry that I had to carry him down the stairs, and out the door kicking and screaming. Not exactly the most fun thing to do after giving birth that morning! When I set him down on the ground, he immediately started running, and then proceeded to sit in the biggest mud puddle in the yard... Mind you, this was in mid-March... in Maine! By the time we were finished with our walk, we were both covered with mud, but his mood was just a bit better. Our first born "practice child" (a black lab) also got snitty when the first 2 legged child was born. The dog figured that if she did not acknowledge the existence of the baby... then it did not exist. We'd lay the baby on the floor, on a blanket, with a dog biscuit on his belly, and the dog would walk right over baby and biscuit, ignoring both!

Lol kids and critters! Our pup got a taste of the new bunny yesterday and has settled down whining over not being able to play with the chickens. He might have a buddy join him a friend asked my daughter if she would teach basic commands to his 6mo old pup and shes offered to give it a go since shes been anxious to get started with her dog program here. I might work out a barter system with folks here for help getting stuff I need. Plus he travels outside and might be able to bring us some outside goodies. Have a good day all.

I would love to know what your life is like there in Libya...I know nothing at all about the country, the culture, the land. When you said, "outside goodies", I'm wondering what life is like there.

Scratch that...just saw your post on the FP and will look at your blog! I love it that you have joined us there!
